Pera Medikal Unifies Import, Sales, and Service Processes on a Single Platform with Dynamics 365 Business Central
Pera Medikal is one of Türkiye’s leading companies specializing in the import, sales, and technical service of laboratory equipment and test reagents used in the medical, agricultural, and food industries.
Since 1990, the company has been serving public, private, and university hospitals as well as laboratories, while acting as the Türkiye representative for more than 20 internationally recognized manufacturers in its field.
With a team of approximately 120 professionals, Pera Medikal operates from its headquarters in Istanbul, supported by regional offices in Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya, as well as a nationwide dealer network, in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
Challenges:
As Pera Medikal’s product portfolio expanded, its supplier base grew, and its multi-location sales operations became more complex, consolidating all business processes under a single platform became essential.
Financial, inventory, and sales data were maintained across different systems, requiring information to be manually consolidated before reporting.
At the same time, import-related costs such as freight, customs, insurance, and banking expenses were calculated manually on a file-by-file basis, while tender costing processes were managed through spreadsheets. This increased the risk of operational errors.
Manual lot-based traceability and the disconnect between technical service processes and sales and inventory data were also among the key challenges limiting the company’s ability to scale efficiently.
Our goal:
To support Pera Medikal’s rapidly growing operations, we implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with the goal of bringing financial management, sales, import, tender, and technical service processes together on a single end-to-end platform.
With Tender Sales Contract Management, an independent application developed by Infotekas and published on Microsoft AppSource, we aimed to transform experience-based tender preparation processes into structured, measurable, and manageable workflows.
Another key focus was to digitalize regulatory compliance through e-Transformation integrations and embed healthcare-specific requirements directly into the system, including expiry-date-based FEFO (First Expired, First Out) shipment management, ÜTS integration, and SUT scoring.
Through Microsoft Power BI, we also aimed to provide management with real-time visibility into profitability and operational performance.
Results:
-
Teams across 3 different locations and 60 users can now work simultaneously on a single centralized platform.
-
In continuous use since 2023, Business Central has evolved into a strategic business platform that supports Pera Medikal’s growing operations.
-
Import, customs, and logistics costs are calculated based on their actual cost components, while tender profitability can be continuously monitored using period-based exchange-rate projections.
-
The fixed asset history and service records of all equipment installed in the field have been centralized, giving technical teams complete data visibility before service interventions.
With Business Central, we have brought our financial management, sales, inventory, import, tender, and service processes together on a single platform.
Enabling different teams to work with the same data has made our processes more transparent and manageable, while also allowing us to provide management with reliable and up-to-date information.
Thanks to Infotekas’ consultancy throughout the project and its continued support after go-live, we continue to enhance our system in line with our evolving business requirements.
Today, Business Central has become a strategic business platform supporting our operations.
